The Solis S6-EH3P5K-H-EU is an advanced three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverter designed for photovoltaic systems with energy storage. Its main function is to maximize self-consumption of solar energy through intelligent power flow management. The inverter prioritizes supplying household loads with PV energy, then charges the connected high-voltage battery, and any excess energy can be exported to the grid. During periods of low PV production or at night, the inverter automatically draws stored energy from the battery.
The device is characterized by reliability, safety, and capacity. Thanks to its intelligent energy management, it integrates with VPP (Virtual Power Plant) and EMS (Energy Management System) platforms. It uses artificial intelligence to manage battery charging and discharging based on Time-of-Use (TOU) tariffs, optimizing energy costs.
The Solis S6-EH3P5K-H-EU offers high efficiency and fast performance. The switchover time between grid power and battery backup is less than 10 milliseconds, ensuring uninterrupted power supply. The inverter supports 160% PV input power, effectively utilizing high solar production. The S6-EH3P5K-H-EU model has a nominal output power of 5 kW for both the grid and backup ports, with a peak apparent output power of 8 kVA for 60 seconds in backup mode. The device supports three-phase unbalanced output, delivering up to 50% of rated power per phase. The maximum PV efficiency is 96.50%, while the European efficiency (EU efficiency) is 96.77%. The PV-to-battery charging efficiency is 98.37%, and the battery charging/discharging efficiency to AC is 97.32%. Additionally, the inverter provides 99.90% MPPT efficiency, maximizing energy conversion from photovoltaic panels. The MPPT voltage range is 200–850 V, with a maximum input voltage of 1000 V. The inverter has 3 MPPTs and 3 string inputs, with a maximum input current of 16 A / 16 A / 16 A. The supported battery type is Li-ion, with a voltage range of 120–600 Vdc (up to 700 Vdc depending on the device label and packaging). The maximum battery charging/discharging power is 5 kW, with a maximum charging/discharging current of 25 A.
The inverter provides significant flexibility and scalability, being compatible with many popular lithium batteries. The system can be expanded through parallel connections and AC coupling, supporting up to six inverters operating in parallel. In parallel configuration, each battery is connected to a dedicated inverter via an independent CAN line for optimal battery management.
Configuration and monitoring are intuitive thanks to the SolisCloud mobile app with Bluetooth support. The built-in Bluetooth module (standards BDR, EDR, BLE) operates in the frequency band 2400–2483.5 MHz. The inverter is equipped with intelligent LED indicators (Battery, Power, WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth) that automatically switch off after one minute but can be reactivated. Remote system monitoring is possible via optional Solis data loggers that connect through a USB COM port and transmit data to the SolisCloud platform via WiFi, LAN, or 4G. Factory wiring for batteries, meters, and the CAN bus significantly reduces installation time.
The Solis S6-EH3P5K-H-EU offers four operating modes: Self-Use Mode, which prioritizes on-site PV consumption, stores excess, then exports; Feed-in Priority Mode, which exports PV surplus to the grid after powering household loads; Off-Grid Mode, designed for systems without grid connection, limiting PV production when the battery is full and loads are low; and Peak Shaving Mode, allowing a maximum grid power draw (Pmax), with automatic supplementation from the battery. Additionally, the Time of Use Switch function enables precise scheduling of battery charging and discharging. The "Allow Grid Charging" option permits battery charging from the grid when the state of charge drops to a set minimum (Force Charge SOC) or when insufficient PV is available during the Time of Use window to meet the required charging power.
In terms of design and safety, the inverter is transformerless. It weighs 27.6 kg and measures 600 × 500 × 210 mm. It has low night-time self-consumption of less than 25 W and convection cooling, resulting in low noise emissions of below 46.9 dB(A). With an IP66 protection class, it is resistant to dust and strong water jets, allowing installation across a wide operating temperature range from -25°C to +60°C at a maximum operating altitude of 4000 m above sea level. Integrated protections include anti-islanding, output overcurrent and short-circuit protection, an integrated DC switch, DC reverse polarity protection, PV surge protection, and battery polarity protection. An optional integrated AFCI 2.0 (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) is also available. The manufacturer declares compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU. The inverter package includes essential accessories such as a mounting plate, screws, dust cover, current transformers (CT), an Eastron meter, and communication cables.
